The Plans tab gives you a reason to get together: small meet-ups at public places, and Right now — a quick look at who's free in the next hour. This guide explains both.

1. What is a plan?

A plan is a small meet-up at a public venue or area, at a set time: coffee, drinks, a walk, a film, the gym, or something else. Plans appear as cards on the Plans tab and as markers on Discover's neighbourhood map.

On the Plans tab you can filter by type (All, Coffee, Drinks, Walk, Movie, Gym) or see the plans you've Joined. Your plans collects everything you host or have joined.

2. Joining a plan

  1. Open a plan card to see its details: name, type, venue or area, time, how long it runs, who's hosting and how many places are left.
  2. Tap Join. If the host confirms each request, your request goes to them and you'll get an alert when it's confirmed. You can withdraw a request at any time.
  3. If a plan is full, you can't join until a place frees up.

You can leave a plan at any time — your place goes back to the group, and you can join again if there's still room. Each plan also links to Safe Meet, so you can set a check-in with a trusted contact before you go (see Safety).

Joining a plan doesn't check you in on Discover. If you also want to be visible nearby, check in separately.

3. Creating a plan

Tap Create a plan on the Plans tab and fill in:

Free members can host a limited number of plans each week; CruiseCtrl+ removes that limit. If you've reached it, the app tells you.

4. Hosting

5. Plan rules

Plans follow our Community Guidelines, plus a few specifics:

If a plan breaks these rules, report the host from their profile. See Reporting & blocking and the Notice & Action policy.

6. What is Right now?

Right now, opened from the Plans tab, answers one question: who's free in the next hour? It's opt-in — nobody appears there without choosing to — and it works at any time of day.

7. Posting a note

  1. Open Right now and type what you're up for in Your note — up to 140 characters (for example, "A coffee somewhere near the canal").
  2. Tap Post for an hour. Posting also lists you as around.
  3. Your note shows how many minutes it has left and disappears after an hour. You can remove it earlier with Remove post. Posting a new note replaces your old one.

Posting needs a verified profile. Free members have a weekly number of notes (the app shows how many are left); CruiseCtrl+ members can post without that limit. Notes follow the Community Guidelines — keep contact details out of them and move the details to a private chat.

8. Pinging and messaging

From Right now you can tap Ping next to someone to let them know you're around too. They get a notification with your name. You can ping the same person once every few hours. Or tap Message to open a chat.

Blocks apply here as everywhere else: blocked people don't see each other in Right now and can't ping each other.

9. Notifications

Choose which alerts you get under Settings → Account → Notifications: Plans (joiners and plans starting soon) and Right now (pings and when it's busy near you) can each be switched off. Quiet hours mutes non-alarm notifications during hours you choose.
