How do I create an account?
Open the app, tap Get Started, and sign up with email, phone, or Continue with Google/Apple. You'll set a display name and complete a quick age check.
Why do I have to take a selfie?
CruiseCtrl is strictly 18+. An automated age-estimation check (provided by our processor Sightengine) confirms you're an adult. It's used only to estimate age — never to identify you — and the selfie is deleted right after the check. If it can't auto-confirm, a person reviews it. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I export or delete my data?
In the app: Settings → Your Data for a GDPR export (JSON), and Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account to delete. We delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, subject to legal exceptions. You can also email privacy@cruisectrl.eu.
What does the green ✓ (verified) mean?
It confirms a real, 18+ person via the selfie check. Get it from Settings → Verification. Verification unlocks Safe Meet, the verified-only filter, and Travel Mode.
What is checking in, and how long am I live?
Checking in puts you on the Radar with an intent and a duration you choose. You auto-check-out when the timer ends — no stale profiles. Ghost Mode lets you browse without appearing; Travel Mode shows you in another city (Premium).
Who can see that I'm active?
You control this in Settings → Share active status: Active now, Last seen, or Off. It governs the presence label in chats and the online ring others see.
What is Pulse?
Pulse is the "right now" layer. Post a short note about what you're up for — it's live for 1 hour, then vanishes. You can Ping or Message people nearby. Pulse auto-resets at 6am.
What is a Beacon?
A public meet-up you announce at a venue — others can join. Show up alone, leave with people.
Do my messages really disappear?
Yes — new chats auto-delete after 24 hours by default. Either person can ask to Keep a chat; both must agree for it to stop expiring.
What are Taps?
A free, lightweight "I'm interested" signal. You'll see who tapped you on the Discover grid and in Signals — no paywall.
How does Safe Meet work?
Pick a buddy and a "safe by" time before a meet. If you don't check in, your buddy is alerted with your details. Your buddy never sees your chats. Full guidance in the Safety Guide.
Someone is threatening to share images or "out" me. What do I do?
Don't pay. Keep evidence, block and report in-app, and contact local support. Remove images via StopNCII.org (18+). Ireland: Gardaí 112/999, hotline.ie. UK: Galop 0800 999 5428. See the Safety Guide.
What are my rights over my data?
Under the GDPR you can access, correct, delete, port, restrict and object, and withdraw consent. Use in-app controls or email privacy@cruisectrl.eu / our DPO at dpo@cruisectrl.eu. You can complain to the Irish DPC. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
How precise is my location to others?
You choose in Settings → Map Precision (precise / approximate / area). Use Ghost Mode or turn location off to disappear from the Radar.
How is CruiseCtrl+ billed, and can I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and renew automatically until cancelled in your store account (deleting the app doesn't cancel). As an EU/UK consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal; by starting immediately you agree to begin during that period and acknowledge losing the right once fully delivered. See the Terms.
How do I report or block someone?
Open their profile or chat → menu → Report or Block. Reports are reviewed (typically within ~24h) and acted on per our Community Guidelines. You can appeal a decision to a reviewer who wasn't involved — see our Notice & Action policy.
I'm not receiving emails (codes, reset, confirmation).
Check spam and that your address is correct. If it persists, contact support@cruisectrl.eu.
The map won't load or notifications aren't arriving.
Check location and notification permissions for CruiseCtrl in your OS settings, and that you're online. Still stuck? support@cruisectrl.eu.
